UPDATE: We ended up bailing on the deal due to the seller being unwilling to deal with a few pervasive things that came up on the inspection. House search continues.

Offer was accepted on the house that the Mrs. and I liked! Looks like we’re moving at the end of July :)

Kinja'd!!!

Going to need to have an ol’ fashioned Oppo garage raising, though. Glad there’s two acres to play with.

Exposed beams! My weakness!

Awesome house! Like how it was updated recently and has some space!

I love the deck and with 2 acres you can think shop and not just garage. There could be a lift in your future!

Oh certainly! Decent lifts are not hard to find in my neck of the woods. My pal installed one at his house last year; says it’s as nice, if not nicer, than the ones he has at work at a major car dealership.

Done over from stem to stern. Builder who is flipping the house also upfitted the office I’ve worked in for the last four years, so I know the guy does good work. His son was our facility manager for about 3 years and now is the VP of his construction company. Between the two of them, they did a fine job on the place. The exposed beams are gorgeous, for sure.

Unrelated... I see the home is in NH

Please can you tell me about it!?! We are kind of looking into moving there and want to know someone’s opinion. One main area we saw was grantham...any help is appreciated

The average time on the market around here is about 3 days. We were in a 3-way bidding war for this one, and it was the best one in that price range in the area. Luckily, knowing the seller worked to our advantage.

Grantham is kind of the middle of nowhere (though Coty might disagree). I’ve lived in NH for most of my life - grew up in Stratham which is out near the seacoast (yep, all 18 miles of Atlantic shoreline that NH has). After a brief stint in VT during college, I moved to the western part of the state to a town called Claremont (it’s a dump) and subsequently to a city called Keene - also the middle of nowhere, but more of a microcosm. There were no highways directly to the city, but it thrived because of the college there. I moved back to the seacoast about 10 years ago, and it was awesome - Portsmouth is a city that shouldn’t be overlooked. I ended up spending a year and a half in an old farmhouse across town from my folks before moving to Manchester to be closer to work. Manchester is by and large, a city for all intents and purposes, replete with all of the trappings of a city that was once ravaged by the uprooting of industry in the 1950s. It’s getting better, but we’re done living in a city. The town we’re moving to, New Boston, is rural enough that we’re out in the woods away from the hustle and bustle, but still 20 minutes from work. My wife’s business is over in Bedford, which is actually one of the more affluent towns in the area; I still work in Manchester.

We are down in Florida now and really want a massive change. We hate the people, the heat, the weather, and a few other things.

We just don’t know the area at all; Jersey is about it. Dad’s main concern is just getting a good family friendly area and we don’t fully want to give up convenience. Like one house we found was over 35 minutes from any grocery store or anything. We don’t really want that so to speak. But we still want some more land for our dogs. Never really considered going towards the coast... don’t really know why!

Raymond or Epping are great towns with friendly people, close to everything.
